Well this is the calm after the storm! Boy did it rain and rain and rain... Everything is just soaked. The furniture is soggy, and not necessarily ruined but it will need some attention soon. However, everything needs attention. So I don't know when that will happen. It is just a comedy of what will happen next. We are trying to get the Hantavirus we are wearing masks in this oppressive heat. It is sweltering. We are used to 50 degrees, I can assure you that it is not 50 degrees in the desert of New Mexico. We are so blessed to have this home, but the man whom we purchased it from left behind so much stuff. What are we going to do with it. We have our own things. Each room is either filled with his belongings or close to it. We have to move out his things to move in ours, but not before we clean it. OH MY GOODNESS!!!! What were we thinking? Oh I remember we wanted to become Lavender Farmers. Yes that is right. We have no idea how to be farmers, but that is the dream. Did I mention this is a solar house. We don't know anything about that either. So far, the lights don't really work at night, we are using flash lights to wander around, the well isn't totally functional without the solar, and we don't know how to live off grid? Oh yeah bad camp 101! We still don't have appliances. We purchased a propane fridge and a propane stove and hood vent, they are coming from Las Vegas New Mexico. Hopefully, they will arrive in a couple more days. We had to purchase 8 solar batteries WOW oh WOW sticker shock, and we aren't through. It looks like we need a new solar array and a new inverter... and so much more.
