I have been sewing up a storm. Each day after I come in from the lavender field I have been sewing pillows. These are the new fabrics for the lavender flaxseed neck pillows. These are all about bees! 🐝
These neck pillows are 5x18 you can get them firm or not so firm.
They are $25 plus shipping.
They are filled with lavender flowers and flax seed.
Directions for Use: Simply spritz with water and heat in the microwave for one minute on high. If you prefer a little extra heat, then continue to heat on high in 30-second increments. To use as a cold compress place in the freezer one hour before using.
When they are on your neck you take a deep breath, relax, and exhale the worries of the day as the calming scent of lavender envelopes you. Release the tension and tightness in your muscles as the warmth settles into your neck and shoulders.

Experimental Sewing... New Products... Lavender farming...

I did another experiment today. The smaller squares are pillow sleeves (maybe we can think of a better name... Any ideas?). Thought you could put them in your pillow at night. You can heat them in the microwave for 30 seconds to increase the fragrance. As you sleep the calming lavender will help you sleep better and have more energy in the morning. Let me know what you think. Thanks
The upper pillow is another eye pillow, just more of the fabric. I also have the same fabric in neck pillows. After I come in from the field I have been sewing. I wanted to get all of last years harvest in products before we harvest this year.
Hopefully we can take them to the farmers market in a couple of months.
Thanks

The irrigation system is complete!!!

The irrigation system is completely in... Now we have to bury the lines. I luckily got a cart this week to help me in the field. I can now sit while I work. The leg is still broken so I have only been able to work on a line a day... Not very helpful... We get the 1080 new plants next week so we are hoping that the cart will get me back to fighting shape!!! I will be out there more tomorrow!

I've made my first product - Neck PILLOWs!!!

I've made a new product that I would like you to let me know what you think. This is my first prototype for my neck pillow. It is 18 inches long. They will be done in different types of lavender, bee, and flower fabrics. After the neck pillow I am going to make eye pillows, and pillow sleeves.
They contain around 40% oil, meaning that they can be reheated again and again without losing their ability to retain heat. And have lovely fragrance from the lavender. Other grains contain mostly water that eventually cooks out.
The heat is also long lasting - flax seeds keep half their heat even after an hour. Other natural fillers tend to cool down quite quickly.
Their small size and smooth shape allows the pillows to contour nicely around your body.
There is no cooked smell. When heating other grains like corn and rice, there is a definite cooked food smell. Flax seed has very faint earthy smell that is not very noticeable. With the lavender fragrance most people will not be able to notice it at all.
The neck pillow is a sleeve and washable. It has Velcro at the top so the internal flax seed/lavender pillow can be removed when needed. It can be hand washed or put in the washer and dryer on cool settings.
